WEDDING CEREMONY
ERIN ELIZABETH BOBRUK & JESS MICHAEL FOLTZ
October 24, 2009
I have selected some of the photos that were kindly taken by our friends and set them to the music the St. Stephens Academy Madrigals sang at the beginning and end of the ceremony, Ubi Caritas and Esto les Digo, hoping to share at least a little of the feeling of this most unusual ceremony. MY JOY
Here is a collection of some of my memories of 35 years of being the mother of an amazing young man. My son, Jason Paul Bobruk, has brought me so much joy since he entered my life on August 10, 1974. This slide show is my celebration of his 35th birthday.

RAIN
parched potted petals smile and drink
delightful drumming drops sing softly
wonderful wet
out comes the turtle from under the fern
to see if a puddle has formed in the path
yes mock the birds
keeping time to gentle distant thunder
echoing a secret song within my self
this heart is washed
rain caresses coarse crackling cries that
rose a moment ago in agony of thirst
squish quietly
gurgle ripple touch drip trickle ditty
whisper sparkle shy shivering shine
thank you heaven

Faces One
Moving...exotic...traveling...dancing from the ruins of Delphi, Crete, Rome...floating in the Mediterranean; peering down from the Alps; hugging, drinking the green magic of Ireland; entering India's heart, bathing in the Ganges...accepting marigolds from the Hindu; perching at the top of the world, the Himalaya; swimming the raw Amazon, touching the mystical empty city of the Inca in Peru; slithering along the ancient Yangtze and over the Great Wall; resting in the Soul, Tibet...washed in the chanting of Buddhist Monks; floating silently above Denali, The Great One, to the edge of the Artic Circle where polar bears drown...hearing whales moan...thunder of crashing blue glaciers; climbing Maya pyramids in the Yucatan; ...back to my home, sweet....
I expanded and swallowed the world.
Singing life, I can no longer harm,
Even a bug.
A wave, I am
Inseparable from the ocean.
Beloved, each face I see is mine!
There's but one of us here. N A M A S T E

WHY?
Declan Galbraith, asks the questions so many of us dare not ask:
"Why does it have to be like this? Is there something I have missed? Why do the tigers run? Why do we shoot the gun? Why do we never learn? Can someone tell me why we let the forests burn? Why do we say we care? Why do we stand and stare? Why do the dolphins cry? Can someone tell me why we let the ocean die? Why, if we're all the same, why do we pass the blame? Why, does it never end? Can someone tell me why we cannot just be friends?"

SHINE
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
